You cut off the angled down part and weld them on the straight part of piping.

Here's a pic of mine to help a little........

See how far back they're mounted? If I had angled down tips originally, they'd be completely cut off anyways.

Get a bigger ID inlet on the tips so they can hang down a little bit. I went 1/2" bigger on the inlet of my tips so I could have an opening at the bottom of the joint of the tip and exhaust so water could pass through instead of going in my muffler.

i want to put on the straight tips that are 24 inches long but if you cut the curve off the tail pipe the pipe is at a slight upward angle wouldnt the tip hit the rear bumper or be really close and warp the paint

Sawsall. You can do it with a handsaw too, I did that, it started pouring down rain when I was putting in my cutout so I didn't want to get electricuted with the sawsall, so I used a handsaw.
