dual-cat replacement

Since PA has new inspection laws that require all emission components to be in place, I have put my cats back on my car. I have the dual-cat set-up and need to replace one of them. Has anyone replaced just one before? If so, what size do I need?

I see that my good cat has a curved end and different ID's front and back.

Thanks!

I replaced both of mine on the stock Y-pipe with Random Technologies - they will have what you need, but Random Tech's are expensive. Recently one of these cats just went bad and I will be replacing the entire Y-pipe with a Carsound/Magnaflow - I haven't seen anyone else mention this. It's 2 1/2" Mandrel bent stainless steel with 2 9400 series high flow CarSound cats. The entire Y-pipe & both cats costs less than the 2 Random Tech cats. Here is the urlhttp://www.car-sound.com/directfit/df_218.htm

It totaled something like $363.00 shipped. I haven't put it on yet but looks well made. One thing though is, the end of the Y-pipe, which attaches to the cat-back is now a slip-on and is 2 1/2" ID and 2 5/8" OD - I plan on having the pipe expanded to fit inside the 3" Banks cat back I just bought.

Good Luck.

thanks, I have the flowmaster amer. thunder cat-back on now and I assume that would cause problems. I saw catco universal high-flow converters on ebay for $32 each. I think the inlet size of the OEM converter is 2.25" Does that sound right?

thanks

2.25" inlet does sound right, but I have a 305, not a 350.
