the one header "might" but the other really long one definately won't come anywhere near fitting.

I guess that if the collectors don't fit, but the primaries do, then you could cut them off, shorten 'em up, and weld on some Flowmaster ball joints or other collectors, but then you just end up spend more time and money than just buying a set of longtubes for $130. These are supposedly Hedman 68460s.

yah, the passenger side should fit... maybe i'll get lucky and the drivers side will go in with a little TLC.
i'm planning on unbolting the mounts and jacking the engine up for more clearance.. i tried once before with a different set and couldn't get them past the bellhousing on the tranny.
Thanks guys!

Well, against popular belief they did fit
the passenger side ended up being the biggest PITA, had to drop the starter to make sure it cleared.. also gotta relocate the main fuel line and tranny cooler lines on that side..
on the drivers side i need to get some headder wrap and wrap the collector a bit so it dosen't cook my speedo cable and break lines.
i might also need to "adjust" my subframe about 1/2" on both sides to make sure that the collector flanges are free to spin.
Clearance looks great, they are about 1/2" lower than my old Y pipe
Pics tomorrow

Honestly, i have no idea. they were on an early 80's truck, then they ended up on my buddies '68 327 for mockup on an engine stand.. they got passed around a bit and i ended up paying $20 for them.
there are no part numbers or anything identifying about them, they do not look like Flowtechs (since Flowtechs have smaller primaries and do not have provisions for easy access to the spark plugs). my buddy said that he thinks they are Headman but i dunno...
i know that the plugs are easy to get to with these on there, i can actually use a plug socket for 7 out of 8.
They look alot better than my old Shorties, that's for sure

Well, after having to replace a tranny line i broke and redoing all the connectors on the starter (old and crusty) i got it fired up today..
the LT's deffenetly sound alot deeper than the shorties
here are pics:

For Ground clearance, they sit almost the same as my old 3" single system (which is still hanging around as you can see). Once i get the matching 15x3.5" front rims/tires i'll have a bit more clearance as well.
I still need to drill and run my fuel line through the subframe on the passenger side, the steel line is a little too close to the collector. I'm also going to headder wrap the drivers side collector so it dosen't cook my speedo cable and brake lines.
More pics once i get the pipes and muffs installed

i guess i could do some creative bending and maybe make a heat shield out of sheet metal.
My buddy just setup his 355 camaro and i know he was gonna run his lines through the subframe as well, i'll have to let him know.
Thanks

Sweet... i guess they fit 82's too
Still waiting on my FM40's for the exhaust. once they get here i'll get it installed and post pics...
I guess i could update on all the lines and stuff i had to move..
the fuel line was the biggest PITA. It originally went over the tranny hump to the passenger side of the car. i slowly worked it upwards so that now it runs over the passenger side of the intake manifold. i ran all new steel braided fuel lines from it to the pump and back to the carb.
i ended up breaking a short section of the tranny cooler lines, replaced that as well... Also relocated the speedo cable so nothing is within 1.5-2" of the headders.
the only thing i'd like to do is heat up the subframe right next to where the flanges are and bend them in with a sledge. i've got just enough room right now to spin the flange and have it barrely touch the subframe..
Anyone got 2 15x4" Centerline Draglites for sale?
Oh yah, i got a new carb too. going from a 600 to a 750 Edelbrock

welp, all done.. ended up using 2.25" pipes because they said that 2.5" would be too hard to bend at the angles i needed.. Still looks pretty good.
the difference in low-end power is unreal, and the car seems much quieter now..

looks nice! clearance?haha.. i cleaned that up, wire brushed and painted it. So far no leaks have shown up... i have no idea when the last time the rear was serviced, i should do that sometime. I'm afraid the LSD would stop working tho
ground clearance is about 4" right now. I have the stock rims on the front, the centerlines with 275.60.15's in the back and the air shocks are all the way up.

Looks good, but I must admit "fitting" is all a question of how much work you're willing to do. It seems that you were willing to do the work and it looks good.

Wow I'm suprised this is the cleanest looking dual exhaust I've seen. I definatly would have opted for 2.5 or even 3 inch though... I'm thinking about making it a summer project to do 2.5" duals all the way back from shorties.

I would be a little worried about hitting a huge bump with the rear end and have the panhard bar come up and hit the piping on the driver's side.

The suspention was down in that pic, when the muffler dude welded in a hanger he melted thru one of the plastic lines for the air shocks.. lol

you can kinda see them in the vid clip in my sig... keep in mind the exhaust wasn't completely hooked up there, there was a 1" gap between the collectors and the tail pipes...
I'll be driving it all weekend so maybe i'll get a clip of what it sounds like now...
