IMCO Crossflow muffler?

I just did a search on the Exhaust forum looking for some feedback on one of these and didn't see anything. I currently have the Flowmaster American Thunder 3" inlet and 3" outlet dual tailpipe setup on my '88 5.0 GTA. The muffler that came with the system is practically a 3 chamber 50 series. I went to an exhaust guy down the road from my house and told me that IMCO makes a 3" inlet dual 3" outlet crossflow thats basically a copy of the Flowmaster 80. Anyone have one or heard one before? I want to keep the system totally 3". Only way to do that with a normal 80 series is to have someone flare out the 2.5" outlets on an 80. Not to mention the Imco was about $60 cheaper installed than the flow.

Update. I had the muffler installed. This thing is the meanest sounding muffler I have ever heard on a 3rd gen. Its freakin nasty. If you guys want a good alternative and also very affordable muffler I highly recommend this thing. Its damn near an empty case compared to a Flowmaster 80.

I love the sound of the IMCO!! My boyfriend has it on his IROC and it's just soooooooooo awesome and sexy! I will be getting that on mine sometime towards the end of this year.

If you go to www.grabthepower.com you can hear sound clips on different truck applications. Their soundclips suck compared to the real thing. I totally agree on the wide open remark. It sounds badass cruising but when you stomp on it man, it freakin roars. I had the 530831 that came with my american thunder system. It was OK but quiet compared to this thing. I was mistaken about the 3" outlet remark. It only comes 2.5" out but any good shop can blow the outlets out to 3" with no problem. I can put video on my PC but I don't know how to upload them for people to hear.

I kept the pipes. For what I paid for that system I was using the pipes. They have those nice mandrel bends and nice stainless steel tips so I just had the guy replace the muffler. Muffler is the exact same length and width but its quite a bit narrower with almost nothing on the inside but the big flow wing. I got out in it this morning and drove it about 30 miles down the back winding roads around my house just so I could get on it and enjoy the car. Sure feels like there is some more get up and go too.
