smells like gas? I dont see how thats a big problem, my car smells of UNBURNT gas which IS a problem (sorta..., but no cat so meh)....
Is the smell coming from your exhaust tips? or is it coming from the engine.
Just a thought, but maybe new plugs/wires/cap/rotor might help things out a little? The car runs good though?

Do a tune up, sounds like it's running rich. Check for exhaust leaks too that could be emitting fumes into the interior.

first thing is the exuast dumps out at the axels and i have a hole in my wheel bay so im sure some gets in there so im going to be geting longer tips, but its so horidable, the wires look very good there accels and the cap is a boshe gold, i tryed to change the plugs but there in there very very tightly and i cant get at 7\8. it runs good except eats gas.

the smeel makes me sick to my stomach and burns my throt.

It doesn't matter how good the wires look, but how old are they? Try to get in there and at least look at the plugs......it's not that hard. Also look at your 02 sensor. If it's eating gas like you say, it needs a tune up bc something is wrong.

Plugs take me maybe a half hour...

Change the 02 sensor if its stock, they're supposed to be changed every 30K I've heard.

i took it down to ohio and back today, ttops down and stuff, its really bad when im just sitting idleing then take off, no real bad when driveing tho. it smells like hot\burnt gasoline, its very potent like if you where at a gas station and the wind was blowing and you got a wiff of the gasoline, like a really higly potent dizel fuel, i went about 20-30 miles today on 1/4 tank so its EATING gas too. is this leading up to the o2 sensor?

ummm if it smells like a gas station then you are smelling UNBURNT gas... you may have a fuel leak... make that definately. No car with a stock 305 will chug 1/4 tank in 20 miles. Thats like getting 5 miles per gallon! It's going somewhere other than the engine. Just start the car up on a dry surface and let it idle and look for drips while its running.

I just replaced the 3/8 feed and 5/16 return lines on my '91 because it was rotted out. Then I sold the rustbucket and picked up the beauty I have now

I had a bad mechanical fuel pump a while back.. made it smell like gas... never dripped a drop because it would evap so quickly of the top of the weep holes in it. only noticed when i turned it on and by chance looked down when i had the hood up.. Other than that the thing burning your throat and given headaches is exaust inside the car.. carbonmonoxide ya know.... I would check your system fo any leaks in it for exaust.. and close up any holes in the interior that lead to the outside of your car..(in the bottom of the car), because exaust is going to get up in there.. reason it is not as bad when moving is because it is being blown away more than just lifting.. when you sit it leaves the tips and goes straight up (unless therre is a wind) and on the bottom of a car it is going to find a way into the cabin, because it will move along the back half floor of the car until it can go up.

well if it is comin out the tail pipes then it probably is running to rich.... and you should really extend the tips to the rear of the car or ou torwards the sides. it might aleviate some of the exaust problem inside the car

not really.. it does not have to smoke. smoke comes from oil.. I have had a car run so rich that i had to change oil (because gas got into it) and it never smoked once.. (after changing the oil i then readjusted and put a little dab od solder on the adjustment screws making sure they would not move again until i wanted them to)

Wouldn't you have to go into the ECM to adjust a TBI? since it is pretty much like a fuel injection system.... so i would suppose it would be tuned the same..

check your fuel pressure regulator, it may have taken a dump on you sending full pressure to the injectors.

Full tune up has been done, the injectors constantly spray fuel in the barrels i dont think that is normal is it? the 7\8th cylinders had the stock plugs (nasty) but it still smells like gas, now it smells like stright up unburnt gasoline, what exactly does that mean? And my gas millage is done

Constantly spraying.. well i guess it should be always putting fuel down it.. but depends on how much.. if it is a huge amount then it is not normal..
