Quiet power
I did a search on this and didnt see anythingso forgive me if this has already been asked. I am looking for a quiet muffler that will still have excellent flow properties. I like to be able for speak in/around the car no problem but want the high flow of a performance muffler. Will be running a 383 with second biggest ZCam (Hyd. flat tappet) 2 1/2" dual figured would be a proper size, running a 2 1/4" dual right now from dynomax and boy does it suck. Just dont want to be the obnoxious car going down the street but when i get down i want the power still there.

If I was you, I'd pick up a very quiet system, like maybe Flowmaster 30s or something. Those are extremely quiet, barely louder than stock.
Then weld an electric cut-out on there

The dynomax system exits out the same side in the rear (looks like single exhaust with dual tip muffler almost.) and it fits really bad.

Axle/Gears: They spin (most of the time)
When i first built my car i put a 2 3/4 inlet and outlet muffler off of a stock SS, I think it was a SLP muffler but im not sure. It was really quiet but still had plenty of power, in fact when i went to the Flowmaster 80 series i felt no difference at all.

I'd put single 3" exhaust on it with a Dynomax Ultra-Flo muffler and a cut-out. Reasonably quiet, good ground clearance, and it'll be fine for your average 11-12 sec street/strip kinda car.

I'd mount them directly off the headers, probably right after the collectors. The closer they are to the headers, the more power you're going to have.
Lots of companies make them, do a search on summitracing.com and pick which ones you like.
