Axle/Gears: good question...
Open/Bullet/Delta Force

I have a 3" Flowmaster 40 series on right now. I loved how it sounded when I had a carb'd L98 in my Camaro, but now with the Trick Flow Heads and 234/242 cam its too high pitched, and reving at 6000rpm makes it sound like Im at 7500.

So Im going with somethin different.

Im gonna start with no muffler at all. Stright pipe open at the rear axle. That will be as loud as a race car (which is the volume level I want ) with a more mellow tone, than say dumping the exhaust right after the cat area.

If Im not satisfied with that Ill try the bullet muffler. Ive had one on my 93 Z28 with a cut out at the rear axle, sounded loud, deep, and mellow, very nice. Also on my LO3 inplace of the cat and a cutout right after, its sounded crappy at low RPM, like a rusted through cat on an old truck.

But I think that might smooth the tone out a little too much, so what can anyone tell me about the Flowmaster Delta Force race muffler? I cant find any sound clips of it on a carb'd SBC. Its also the most expensive, so it will be last one I try. Dose it basicy sound like a 40series but louder?

Are there any other good exhaust sound clip sights out there? Ive already been through exhaustsoundclips.com

Mine with the 40series sounds like that but alot higher pitched. I think I might end up liking the stright pipe the best.

Any other large sound clip sites?
