ticking wen accelerating

ticking wen accelerating

wen i accelerate i have this weird tickin noise. wut could this be? please help thanks

I had a similar noise it was a cracked flexplate

Likely manifold gaskets are leaking... replace them and see what happens. Usually you can see where they were leaking when you remove them old gaskets.

If you have the stock rochester carb it has metering rods that make a ticking noise during acceleration.You can also hear them when you turn the ignition on and the engine is not running.

it could be your lifters but its most likely the exhaust manifolds

Flex Plate

Dude i had this bad, and i later had to drop my trany, and low and behold it was the flex plate, mine was so bad that the bolt pattern stayed on the engine. I know its some work but id go with the flex plate first, its the hardest job but if it goes it can go through your trany, engine, or into your drving compartment, For safty alone its worth looking into , drop the trany, and TC and look for cracks

Couldn't hurt to put some in there though, if they are indeed leaking. Whats $10 and a 1/2 hour of work to get rid of an irritating exhaust leak?
