Be honest the american thunder series is not that bad of a catback system for the price and it performs and sounds pretty damn good. Just make sure to you get the entire system in the 3" option. Personally if you have the time and money get the borla but if your short on either one of those two, get the flowmaster american thunder.

its the 3" system and i like the sound just dont like the popping but thats easy to live with. borla was my first option, but seeing that prices were double than the american thunder, it was the better option, since i dont have a very big limit on my credit card (starting out trying to get credit sucks).

As long as you did not get the Force II you are ok, the Force II will pop way less, but i prefer the agressiveness of the American thunder, thats just me.

Re: flowmaster 3" exhaust
I was looking at the Flowmaster American Thunder 3" System but I saw it's for a dual cat setup. It wouldnt be a problem if that pipe was cut to accomodate the single cat application?

Re: flowmaster 3" exhaust
it comes with a y-pipe for the cats so you could have a piece fabbed up to use with the one cat
