Re: best bolt on headers

headmann headers make a nice set for your power levels. nice shorties with a y-pipe that'll connect to your catback.

Re: best bolt on headers

Shouldn't sound much different, maybe a little louder, but the muffler and your engine combo will decide how the exhaust sounds.

y pipe is included in the kit. I believe you can even pick them up coated from one of the board sponsors, although i've never looked into it.

I don't know of any company that makes bolt-on headers for '85 model year. It was a one-year-only bastard.

I'll add my vote to the Hooker 2055HKR's. Great y-pipe is included with them. The Catco 9118 cat will hook to them, some modification may be required to your cat-back to hook it up to the 9118.

Nobody powder coats headers. It would burn right off. Ceramic coating is the most popular, and you can get them that way from Hooker, or Jet Hot.

The Summit p/n is HOK-2055HKR for painted, HOK-2055-1HKR for ceramic coated.

Re: best bolt on headers

paid 140 for headers self install, custom dual 2 1/2" all the way to the point the exhaust turns at the tranny (no cats) 3" all the way back to a flowmaster 80 with dual 3" tail pipes.......grand total not including headers $600 the pipe is stainless steel, fixin to buy header wrap so that should jack the total up a little more, same place charged a friend of mine $180 to go from the headers (dual 2 1/2) to where the cat inlet should be if he had one so that should give you a ball park idea on the head pipe, a flowmaster 80 is about $100 i think, cant remember
