Edelbrock TES headers clearance questions

How tight are the Edelbrock TES headers for room under third gen f body cars? I'm worried that I can't get the oil filter and drain plug off with the headers installed. Do you have room to do an oil change without trouble or any other under car work?

That isn't where they are tight...thank god. They are a tight fit though....but any header is a tight fit on our cars!!

There is no problem doing oil changes, but there is one spark plug, i can't remember which one off the top of my head, that is almost impossible to get to.

Re: Edelbrock TES headers clearance questions

I used a spark plug socket shortened at both ends to access the #1 plug. When AC Delco lengthened the stock plug, without changing the part number, I had to use the modified socket on all 8 plugs. No other clearance problems, though.

Re: Edelbrock TES headers clearance questions

I found that a gear drive ratchet and 5/8 pass-through socket works well also. No clearance issues since the plug passes through the ratchet and socket.

I don't have enough time on mine to tell you much. They do fit tight though! I do need to do some more "negotiating" to stop some rattles.
