will this dual exhuast setup work????

i was wondering would this dual setup work for my 88 gta.... its two 2.25 inch pipes using the stock route of the original single system.....could this work... i have hedman long tubes and this should fit and ground clearance shouldnt be a problem because its the stock route..... do you guys think it will sound better than a 80 series setup.....

Re: will this dual exhuast setup work????

i've seen a few setups that run pipes in the stock location and up over the axle. ground clearance was like stock if the pipes are fabbed up right. what you ahve pictured does look promising as long as they run near stock location. 2.25 isnt a huge pipe so clearance will be ok. you'll be able to fit that over the axle no problem

2.25" I wouldn't waste my time with that you would be better off with a single 3" as for performance, not to mention the weight factor and ease of installation.. my .02

Re: will this dual exhuast setup work????

my buddies car has a 408ci motor in his thirdgen. has 3inch flowmaster 80 series. quieter than my bolt on L98 and even doesnt sound as mean as my car at idle, they sound bout the same. his car does sound good just not all that loud but it aint quiet either. my car screams pretty good.

i used to have 80 series and his car sounds better than my did with 80 series and a cat

Re: will this dual exhuast setup work????

I have a 92 z28 with hooker long tubes ran about the same way your talking about having yours ran, dual 2.5" but I have a x-pipe right before my dual magnaflows dumped right before the rear end instead of running it out the back. I love the way magnaflows sound and the x-pipe gives it a good sound too. Plus being dumped it is really really deep and in my opinion magnaflows are the only way to go. After having magnaflows on this z28 and having them on a 68 c-10 I had I wont ever run anything other than magnaflows.

Re: will this dual exhuast setup work????

i have 3inch single setup using the old flowmaster pipes but a custom fabbed rear over the axle section to retain dual outlets like the flowmaster did. 3inch all the way out to 3.5inch tips. for a muffler i mounted a powerstick chambered tube in the I-pipe area behind the cat. 20inch long. gutted the cat now. clips in sig

Compression does wonders

I have Hooker shorties, custom 3" ypipe, 3" cat, 3" ipipe with a Bullet muffler in it and it dumps over the axle for now. It's decently loud but I want to get 4thgen tips. Would the sound change at all? Maybe louder?

Re: will this dual exhuast setup work????

that's greezemonkey's old setup, it's for the hooker bbc swap headers. it won't work on your hedman longtubed sbc without major modification...and ground clearance WILL suffer.
