Re: headers n y-pipe
I just installed Hooker 2210 longtubes and a Mufflex Y pipe. They both fit great with no trouble on the install, I couldnt ask for better fitting stuff. I was able to use my stock starter and everything.

I wanted the ground clearance and I didnt want all of the noise from the duals dumped under the car, They fit fine, I originally put them in before I put the motor in, but I had them out a few times, The passenger side slides in from the bottom really easy and the drivers side went in from the top, didnt take long at all.

Re: headers n y-pipe
Since your info says that you have an LO3, you need a y-pipe badly. Believe it or not, you got the worst manifolds and y-pipe that GM ever put on a V8. If you only took those off and put on stock TPI or LG4 pieces, you would see a drivable difference.

No mods, I got poly motor mounts, with the starter out you can slide the pass side in no problem then put the slip tube in from the top once the starter is back in. Actually I had to bend a brake line like 1/2" out of the way took like 2min to take the bolt out and bend it a little, other than that everything went smooth

Re: headers n y-pipe
long tubes can make more power, but they will not pass emmissions, if that is an issue to you.

Re: headers n y-pipe
Longtubes can be a real PITA!!
You will have to custom fab the complete exhaust if you go with the LT's and it takes a long time and someone with good skill on a pipe bender to get the system tucked under the car so it has decent clearance.

well people have sed they got the long tubes in with no problem. and i would just be doing a y-pipe setup after the long tubes. im sure u can tuck it all urself without a pipe mechanic

Do not want to steal the topic but I read that on 91-92 LB9's they had LO3 exhaust, is that true?
