Did anyone else have a really crappy time installing Hedman Hedders, part #68470 and y-pipe part #17470 on their 305 TPI IROC-Z? According to the directions the header should have just slipped right in on the passenger side, but that was harder than the drivers side and I unbolted the motor mount for that side. Then trying to get the y-pipe to fit was a joke. The angles for all the connections were horrible, and it wasn't even long enough to make it to the cat. I had to take it to a muffler shop for them to hack it apart and weld it to fit properly. After all was said and done, it was actually worth it. The power gains are easily felt and the sound with the Flowmaster 80 Series is amazing. When I was at the muffler shop, I just had them take out the cat and put a test pipe in place so that probably helped the sound a little as well. I'll post pics if anyone would like them.

Well I guess I'm just unlucky. I tried for a few hours just to get the y-pipe when I just gave up and took it in to my local muffler shop.

i put a set of them on a 83z28 for a friend of mine everything went together pretty nice. i was gona buy a set and use them on my 82 cause the hookers on there now and hacked up y are a joke but i decided to put my hedman longtubes on there much easier to deal with imo

Screamin86, you put long tubes on without a problem? Mine are only shorties anyways.
