Are FlowTechs any good?
Seen shortie headers and y pipe combo for about 290 in a summit mag and wondered if this brand was any good or not.

Re: Are FlowTechs any good?
Ive had mine for 4 years now, no problems and huge sound difference. Love em nd it looks like they're still holdin up great. Granted i havnt compared them to anything else but with that setup 3" backpipe into a flowmaster 50 dual out sounds pretty mean for my lil 305.

Flowtechs are at the low end of the header scale. Better than manifolds, but on the small side for serious use. There are much better alternatives.

Re: Are FlowTechs any good?
i bought a ceramic set a couple of years ago . had to spend half a day cleaning them up . weld splatter on flanges , "Y" pipe connection on the inside not fully open . not the best , but not the worst . i used a mr. gasket copper on the flanges to the head and soft seal alum. on the "Y" pipe . ( DON'T USE THE PAPER ONES THEY GIVE YOU ) oh yes , use new header bolts with locktite . tighten from the center outwards , you will need to make spacers for alt. and a/c comp. . all in all not too bad a set of headers , but for sure not the best .

Re: Are FlowTechs any good?
yea im sure they're not near hooker or hedman quality but for a 305 that will hopefully b swapped out someday anyway why spend a buncha money on it? that was my reasoning anyway. i dont kno if you're runnin a 350 but im sure they would still flow better than stock. be ready to drill some bolts out cause you'll probably break one off in the block, soak them in penetrating oil for a good while before you start too.
