I only have 2 guess's one being that since my pulley didnt come in the mail yet i have a big exhaust leak since all a.i.r functions got deleted or the other one is that i have a radiator leak and my cars just too hot? ne ideas would help, i was very dissapointed when i got my car back.

Re: problem after header install

its been sooooo long since my car had the air tubes....
each side of the engine has a tube, with the 4 little tubes one for each cylinder. Those larger tubes connect to something, the carb or some pollution control and if they are just left open i think they could be causing a computer issue or vacuum leak.

Are the air tubes still hangin around on the motor or what? pic?

You would know, you would have a loud exhaust leak.

Talk to the shop who installed them...they removed some of the spark plug wires make sure they are not crossed. Just check some of the obvious stuff out.

What pulley are we talking about in the mail? Radiator leak? Is the car running hot or not check the gauge and tell us what it reads, yes if its running 240* you will notice a drop in performance.

There should be no vacuum leak. The air pump pumps air into those tubes. Sounds like a good case of messed plug wires. Could even be that when they were pulling them they messed some of them up. I would check there first. Anything within the proximity of the headers.

How about you stop driving your car until you figure that out? If you are running your engine way up in temp you are going to destroy it

Re: problem after header install

I'm betting the temp sender wire got against the headers and melted (thus the gauge pegged). You also need to watch your fan switch wire it will definitly get against your headers. Wonder if a plug wire got against your headers as well. In short I'd start with getting under the hood and going over everything that could get damaged by getting against the headers with a fine tooth comb, they get waaaaay hotter than manifolds do.

Is your SES light coming on?

Did they install and hook up the O2 sensor? (assuming you still have a computer system)

Most likely is they didn't get the ignition hooked back up properly (broke a spark plug, crossed some spark plug wires, plug wires shorted to the headers, etc.).

Modern Day Muscle carries it. It also come on the GM serpentine conversion kit (you might look for part numbers there).
