What exhaust system in a 91 Camaro 350
Well I have been back and forth like 100 times. Flowmaster is out of the question. Everyone has 'em and I want mine to be one of a kind. I was thinking a bullet muffler system. Kind of like this:

Now I am a quick learner. I do not know about exhaust very well. I just know I need Cats and a muffler to pass inspection. I want it to sound nice and be able to install my self. I like the idea of the bullets cause I can switch them around if I do not like the sound. I do not care if they can hollow out I will just replace it. Is there a kit somewhere as well?
Now I was also thinking about going with this system right here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1983-...spagenameZWDVW
This is an easy bolt on set-up, cheap, and not Flowmaster. How do they sound? Any clips by any chance?
Finally what would be a cheap but good Cat that I could get my hands on?
Overall I want the bullet style system as it will fit my needs better but where can I get my hands on a kit for one and what Cat should I get?

The problem with the picture you drew is you will have no ground clearance. You can run ONE pipe and bullet muffler parallel to the driveshaft on the passenger side, where the old intermediate pipe sits, but the other one on the right, you make it look like you want to go straight back under the floorboards with. This will give you minimal clearance.
I think you can fit a length of pipe on the opposite side of the driveshaft and run it straight back, but not sure. But even then, youd have to come right off the drivers side header and straight back (and at this point, you might as well do true duals). I don't think you can come off the stock y pipe and cat and come UNDER the driveshaft/trans with piping. Ground clearance would be way to close.
I just spent a bunch of time doing a single 3" off the cat, into a chambered powerstick muffler, and over the axle with a 90* bend into a summit turbo muffler. Turned out nice but the only way I could see doing the pipe was in the tunnel where the stock intermediate pipe went.

Re: What exhaust system in a 91 Camaro 350
What your wanting to do is not that complicated. This system has been done before in a few different comfigurations. All you need to do is have a large I pipe that goes from the cat and then over the rear end and then at that point is where you add your Y for each pipe/muffler.
Its a fairly simple job you just need someone who can you make you a "GOOD" split and then from there the rest is easy.
Hope that helps

Do you think I can just get a regular stock system and put the split pipe in place of the original Muffler?
Also one more question the bullet style mufflers; Can they be clamped on or do they need to be welded?
Heres a quick put together of what I would like to do:

Now if you want to do it the way that i've seen it, your gonna want to put your Y right here where the red circle is.....
After the Y, the pipe on the right gets extended out a bit and the bullet type muffler is put on and then run out the back. On the other side it follows the same route as the stock setup and then the bullet type muffler is installed and run out the back. So basically the same route shown in the picture just minus the muffler/ebay y pipe and then put a custom made Y where the circle is at.
Now there are going to be better systems out there but you've already made it clear thats not what you want. I'm pretty sure this is what your looking for and is going to give you the results your looking for. I would recomend getting at least a 3in I pipe to start from the cat back and then from there you should be able to get a Y-pipe/splitter to go into 2 2.5+ inch pipes and mufflers. Hope that gives ya a little more food for thought.....

Re: What exhaust system in a 91 Camaro 350
No, that splitter is the worst out there. I mean you can use it, but as for power, its horrible. What you have there is very similar to what is in the stock muffler. This topic has been brought up in the past using that specific splitter and the end result was not good. Something tells me that the splitter was advertised in the past as being 2.5 inlet and 2.5 outlet(s), the problem is the bend, if you look at it, it crushes to pipe to being almost less than 2 inches. Yeah, your car may sound louder but your killing the performance cause you now have a whole lot more backpressure.

Nothing wrong with that it's a nice exhaust plus it's simple.
