Re: y pipe with a 5 speed

I'd like to see a pic of this too as I will need to fab a y pipe after my V8 swap. I have shorties and a T5 as well.

Hooker 2055's have a Y-Pipe that will work with a T-5

That's what I run. Check the pic for clearance (which isn't a problem):

Re: y pipe with a 5 speed

Are you using a stock oil pan? Aftermarket pans dont fit or work as well with the y-pipe.

Re: y pipe with a 5 speed

Are you just not happy with what's available in the shorty headers that's leading you to build your own? Dyno Don's headers are the best on the market right now if you hadn't seen them and they come with a y-pipe. If you do build your own, I would try to make the tubes a bit longer for more of a mid-length or even a tri-y design to promote a stronger midrange. Should be worth a few more ponies. Good luck!

Take a pic of them and post. Especially of the flange. We might be able to figure out what you have. Have you at least measured them? You want at least an 1-5/8" header.

Re: y pipe with a 5 speed

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I bought my headers at a swap meet and I know they will fit the engine, but don't know what Y-pipe goes with them so I was just going to fab my own. I'm gonna fab up the rest of the exhaust myself, so I figured the Y-pipe wouldn't add that much work.
