Long tubes or new y-pipe?

Ok so my y-pipe on my hooker shorties is really bad and needs replaced. I either have to spend 250 on the new off road y or go to a shop and get a y made with a cat which will also cost around 250-300. Should I do this or buy some hedman long tubes and fab up my own y. I have a t-5 but have heard of many people getting it to work. From the headers I am going to go with 2 s-bends on each side with some extra pipe inbetween to make it fit and go into a y to my cat-back untill I can afford true duals all the way back. I will still spend around 300 doing this. My car is a 89 iroc with a 350 carb swap. Engine was rebuild, mild cam, bored over.

Well order is on the way. I hope this works lol, if not I'll make it. Good thing it's not an everyday driver.

Re: Long tubes or new y-pipe?

Quote for the y from shop for my shorties now was 300 and that meant putting a cat on and pressure bends. I am doing my own y for the long tubes. Too many bends for the y for shorties to make on my own. Plus I'd rather have the long tubes then once I have a few more bucks I'm going x pipe true duals all the way back with powersticks.
