Need help figuring out what headers to run

hey guys im looking to hear some opinions and help me figure out what headers i should run, well first off the car is pretty much stock at this point, but i do have a lot of plans for it in the future so keep that in mind. well for starters i think im gonna go with shorty headers but i would really like to run Hooker S/C Long Tube Headers with a mufflex y-pipe. also one point to add is that i am not running and of the emissions equipment. so any input would be greatly appriciated, hope this will help me firgure out which direction i will go

Re: Need help figuring out what headers to run

The hooker super comp full length headers on a stock motor will suck big time. You will lose a ton of low end power cause there 1-3/4. Stick with a shorty header in the 1-5/8 range and you will be ok. Hooker actually makes a super comp shorty in 1-5/8 with a y pipe I believe. So all you would have to do is pickup a cat back of your choice and you will be good to go.

alright sounds good, so any suggestions on a good set of shorty headers that come with a y-pipe with out the A.I.R. stuff on it? or if they dont come with a y-pipe will the stock one fit on it?

If you stay with a good brand like hooker, edelbrock,or hedman you cant go wrong. Just check out what you can get for the best bang for your buck. And for a cat back make sure there a good exhaust size and listen to some sound clips of the muffler the provide so you know what its gonna sound like when you install it.

Go with Dyno Dons 1 3/4in shorty headers with y-pipe. These headers are the only headers you can get that are 1 3/4in. Plus they will work even better for future mods. All other headers are bullshit because you will have spark plug and plug wires boot insulation problems. His headers eliminated those problems.
