Some of questions about the Hooker catback. Pic inside...

Does anyone have pics of the Hooker catback installed without the tips put on? I prefer more of the stock hidden look. How far do just the bare tailpipes come to the end of the bumper?

Also, I've done a lot of searching here but can't seem to find a definite answer... which is a louder catback, the Hooker Aerochamber or 16829 Magnaflow?

One more...

Does the right tailpipe of the hooker catback have a slight bend in it?

Thanks for any input fellas!

it looks better with the tips on without the tips its about 5in back from bottom of the bumper so you basically wont see it at all and the bend is for the differences in height i think or something like that

So if i used stock replacement tail pipes in place of the hookers, they wouldn't be level?

Can anyone with a hooker aerochamber confirm if the two outlets are level?

It almost looks to me that the passenger side tailpipe comes off the muffler at an angle slightly more than 90 degrees, and the bend at the end is there to square it up

As I recall, mine didn't come out squarely on each side. You need to adjust how far in/out of the muffler each tailpipe goes to square it up (so each tip is even under each tailight). Getting them "level" isn't an issue. Other than that, I've had mine for about 5 years and love it!

Thanks for the input, I see what you mean. However, I'm wondering if the tailpipe bend is for making it square to the bumper itself. Glad to hear you like it, I'm still debating between the Hooker and Magnaflow.

Here's what I mean about being square. I exaggerated the passenger tailpipe angle just to show what I'm talking about:

Is this the case with this catback?

Because I like the "sleeper" look, I used OE tail pipes. Perfect fit.

OK, I see what you're saying now! If mine does that at all, it's so slight it's not even noticable...

Thanks for the help guys. I like magnaflow for the stainless, but the tips are way to big for me.

How would you describe the sound of the hooker aerochamber? I've listened to countless videos but you can never really tell how it sounds in person.

Relatively quiet at idle. Quiet enough at cruising speeds that you can carry on a conversation or listen to the radio. Nasty growl at WOT.

That description pretty much nailed it...mine might have gotten a bit more of a p*ssed off note at WOT after I added the blower...

But I would never base the decision on what tips each come with since they can be easily changed to something else....

Does the hooker have a deep tone or is it more raspy? I like the sound of Magnaflow, but I'm just worried it would be a little to quiet.

Hooker Aerochamber....yes...right pipe has a slight bend...

...complete install...(muffler and all pipes got an aluminium overspray, system includes also Hooker 2055 headers and Catco 9118 cat):

...after a year I changed the pipes...to a (for me nicer) OE-"look"...
...the hooker double tips look/are a little to much "overdressed" ...for my car...

Nice! Did you buy those tail pipes pre-made? I'd like the replicate, I can't stand the chrome quad tips...

Those new stock style tailpipes look perfect. I watched the video in your sig... your exhaust sounds great!
