restore to stock
hello everyone! im new to here aswell as the camaro world. i just bought a 1991 camaro rs with the 3.1 v6. yeah i know its weak and all but for now im just going to enjoy the better gas mileage than i get in my truck. the previous owner removed the smog pump and deleted the cats and muffler and straight piped the car.....but guess what! i need to pass emissions.... so here is the question.
what do i do about getting a smog pump back on it and returning it all to stock including putting cat/cats back on and mufflers and all? where does what go? how many cats does it take?

It should take one cat which attaches right after the y-pipe. You can purchase a direct-fit replacement cat for (I believe) around $50-80. These cars have a one-in two-out muffler after the axle. Depending on what the previous owner did to remove it, you could get a replacement muffler or replace the entire cat-back exhaust. I have used dynomax and hooker exhausts in the past and both have worked well.

*I was wrong, it is more expensive than I thought.

Re: restore to stock
In terms of the air pump I would just go to a "u-pick" type yard and grab one off a car there.
Honestly when I had the dynomax exhaust on my car it sounded great, I wouldn't bother replacing that muffler with a magnaflow. The thing that I didn't like about the dynomax was that the tips got rusty and after about a year of driving looked terrible.
