Anyone run single out exhaust?

I was thinking up something different, already took my muffler off, and was thinking of running a single pipe. Not the single in, dual out stock setup.

What I would do is use the main pipe leading from the engine, the one that connects into the muffler, and run a straight pipe from that out to the driver side in the back.......anybody do this yet? Its a different look from all the muscle cars that have dual pipes sticking out the back

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

I did that to my 92RS I had back in the early/mid 90s. My cat acted as the "muffler".

Sounded good to me them, but I much prefer the sound of a good muffler than what it was. Just ;oud & raspy. Good in my teen years/just after High School, but not even good in my late 20s.

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

Just put a good flowing single-in, single-out muffler on, something like a Hooker Aerochamber. It'll be quieter, sound better, and flow better than a crossflow muffler. Best of everything.

My two cents here, but having an excessively loud (No muffler) exhaust on a 305 to sound "cool" or "fast" turns it into a poser.... Why do we hate all the civics & cavaliers? Exactly

I like your idea of the single out, it's the way to go in my opinion. Just please put a muffler on it

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

Mine is single out. over the rear end, into a ultraflo muffler and out on the drivers side. Painted it all black so it is not visible.

I didn't have the intention of being a poser I was just preparing for mild powered 350. I don't think the dual exhaust is an option for me as I have bumpy areas and downhill turns which would scrape it alot.

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

The majority of us here don't have dual exhaust either, just a single in/dual out muffler. A single tip on one side looks unbalanced or like one broke off & is missing. I've had both style exhaust & much prefer the dual outlets over single, or no visible tips at all, just tucked outlets.

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

I run single in single out 3" mandrel bent all the way with an ultraflo muffler. Just a turndown angled back a little to exit behind the drivers rear tire. It is out of view and welded to a hanger to support the muffler. No tails, nice stealthy look.

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

Mine has the Flowmaster Force II #Flo-17151 from summit, 3inch single in/out with a 30 series race muffler that has a great tone and is tucked up nicely so you don't see it unless your looking under the car. It's all business and no bling, just the way I like it.

Mark.

Now that you bring that up, Thats how I think I'd like it, no visible tips. Do you know what the stock size is for the exhaust pipe coming from the engine, that would help me find a muffler for it.

Re: Anyone run single out exhaust?

Thats what I have as well, the flowmaster single 3", but with a hooker max flow muffler instead. I like how it doesnt have a huge set of tips poking out the rear of the car. The look never really appealed to me.

I like it. I just get a lil sick of the same sound over and over again so I might change the muffler but not because I hate the ultraflo.

This is exactly what I want. Is this any particular cutback system?

Not sure of the stock size, mine has headers so it wouldn't be the same.

no, i built it, all 4". Mufflex sells a 4" catback, but it was a lot cheaper to build my own.

Its not 'single' out, but I like it ALOT. Its an SLP two on the left but the design could easily be copied.

I have an SLP two on the left as well and I really like it. Sounds really good with full length headers.
