Will this "X" pipe idea work?

Yes this a crude example but im no graphics artist but it gives yall an idea. Now,from the muffler mandrel bend 180 degrees and then just turn to the X pipe and of course keeping the pipes in conjunction with the X pipe geometry. Then on the other end of the X pipe,.. straighten them out for some nice exhaust tips right out of the center of the rear bumper neatly...curious about thoughts, sound, gains and looks? If it's stupid, jus tell me

Honestly, I'm not a fan. Not a lot of room with the gas tank there.

Re: Will this "X" pipe idea work?

If you have a singly pipe, no need for an X. It's only for a true dual suystem, not for a 2-1-2 or 2-1 system

Re: Will this "X" pipe idea work?

If you think about it, the purpose of the crossovers is to equalize pressures across each bank. If you just dump them to the atmosphere at the back of the car, that's exactly what they're doing back there. They're equalizing as soon as they both exit the exhaust system. This is generally not useful all the way back there, so that's why they put them as close to the engine as possible. So from there I think you can see that putting an x-pipe in the tailpipe section isn't going to help you much.
