Need help on exhaust

will be ordering exhaust in next couple of months and still dont know what i want.....has anyone used the spintech catback for thirdgens?if so what do you think about it? my other choices are hooker aerochamber and tsp rumbler.....i want a fairly loud exhaust at idle and wot but still be able to hold conversations while cruising the highway......i already have hooker 2460 headers with matching y pipe

Re: Need help on exhaust

ok since im on a high school budget the spintech is out of the category so its either the tsp or the hooker......iv heard hooker is pretty quiet even with headers so im leaning towards the rumbler.....what do you guys think will be better?

you will probably want the hooker aerochamber kit. its not quiet, has a nice rumble at idle and sounds just as well at wot

The Hooker is nice at idle, quiet enough at cruise to listen to music or carry on a conversion--nasty at WOT. Recommended.

Re: Need help on exhaust

Well everyone where I live runs flowmaster and I want something with a more distinct tone....I want something that's turn heads when it fires up.....every video of the aerochamber I watch you can barely hear it idling.....figured the rumbler would put me almost as loud as a loudmouth

Do and/or buy what pleases you, but experience tells me that loud gets old fast.

Best of luck with your choices.

Ive heard a few which sound good but there are some that dont sound good at all and drone very badly. with the headers though, it should have a nice sound to it. have you thought about getting cutouts? im sure that would give you turning heads. best of luck

Re: Need help on exhaust

Also could you tell me how much louder it is than a crossflow? And what's the drone like on highway speeds? Sorry about all the questions I just don't want to be disappointed in the exhaust I put on like I was when I put that dynomax ultraflow crossflow on it.....great tone and sound but super quiet

I'm guessing that you didn't actually click & try any of them. That folder is nothing but Videos, hence the name of the folder....."Videos".

Zero drone & zero rasp. You check out the videos? I dunno why it sounded so windy in the cruising videos.

EDIT: The windows were down. Says so on the video title! LOL

The previous owner of my car buy the 4th gen version & had a shop install it so I have no idea. Pretty sure they ripped him because he said the install cost more than the cat back. But TSP used to make a 3rd gen version. Same muffler/same tubing but with the correct hangers & bends. You could contact them & ask. http://www.texas-speed.com/ Worst case? Buy the 4th gen 93-95 version & modify it to work. I think the shop lied to him because I have never heard any horror stories about LT kits not easily fitting a 3rd gen.

Heres my powersticks on duals. Keep in mind this was barely pushing down on the throttle.

Nice and quite when idle but loud at WOT

Re: Need help on exhaust

the part numbers for the ls1 and lt1 catback are the same so I think they discontinued the lt1 as well.....the hardest part is gonna be finding a reputable dealer to mod it to fit.....have you added headers to Your car since then....was wondering how different my car would sound with the 2460 hookers and ory

Says "Out of Stock until March" not discontinued. http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1473-te...3-catback.aspx

And no.....Still stock manifolds & Y. I wanna go LS so I haven't been spending any $ on anything that can't be used later. IE:wheels/tires/suspension/body/interior

I have a hooker cat back on a 3 inch system with hooker headers . It sounds good, definetely loud enough. I like the mello sound of the flowmaster 50 but not sure it would fit on my 91 camaro.
