Just installed a new Magnaflow on my 89 IROC.
It's a high quality,it went on easy and fits up perfect.
I like everything about it except the tips-they stick out too far and they're ugleeee.
Any thoughts on how to shorten them up? If I cut them what's the best way to do it and keep the edge of the tip "clean" and not ragged looking?
Could they be painted with some black high temp paint?
Suggestions welcome.
Thanks

I bought a pair of Walker replacement tailpipes from Summit and used a pair of B&B tips I had sitting around. I had the inlets of the tips expanded at a local muffler shop.
Do the Walker tailpipes and then the Corsa knockoff tips from ebay. The tailpipes were $90. Part numbers WLK-43243 and WLK-43244

I cut mine back by running tape around it nice and strait exactly where I wanted the cut and use a saws-all with a fine tooth metal blade and finished it of with a fine tooth metal file. Not only did they stick out a little to far but were sharp as razor blades.
They are 3in. tips on the Flowmaster "American Thunder" Cat back.
The car behind me can still see them and I like it that way.
The Magnaflow is NOT what I expected. Its really quiet. Almost as quiet as the stock OEM exhaust. I am still running the factor exhaust manifolds and dual cats but had I known it would be this quiet, I would have chosen something else.
