Smog pump

I'm looking to purchase a used set of headman headers with out "air line". I have a 1983 z28 carb lg4. I was wondering if my car has the smog pump or not which is what I was told hooks up to air line. Car is All original btw, just want to bolt on something to wake it up. Randy

Pop the hood and take a look, should be mounted under the alternator if it's there. my guess would be most likely not and if your state doesn't require emissions for your car you could delete it if you wanted to.

Headers will be your best wake up for sure. Then do a gear change it will really wake up.

I live in New Orleans we don't get smog checks. Will look into removing it. Under the hood of that car intimidates me with all the vacuum hoses and things that may come loose.

Re: Smog pump

Take some photos around the alternator especially below it and a couple general engine bay photos and post them here I'll see if I can help from the computer.

Get a posi and 3.42s or 3.73s. You will like it.
