3.5" Over Axle pipe

Anyone know of a 3.5" over axle pipe out there? I know I can buy generic bends, but I was looking for one with specific thirdgen bend to it. ....I thought for sure there was a thread about this recently, but I couldn't find it.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

I know Mufflex makes one, and I know they're (he) is willing to do custom stuff. I assume he'd sell just the over axle. I just didn't know if there was one just sitting on a shelf somewhere hat might be a little cheaper. Thought maybe Walker, although their site is a little hard to navigate.

Last I knew, MUFFLEX did not bend their own 3.5" and 4" tubing. They had it fabricated by big truck/bus exhaust fabricators....ask me how I know....

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

Oh I'm sure you're right. ....I talked to the guy one time about a year ago and he said he was willing to do some custom things I was looking for. I assumed he'd sell just an over axle. -He may NOT sell it alone...and I would have no idea if he bought it or bent.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

Stainless Works does one for Hawks. It is part of the LS exhaust kit with 2" primary tube headers. Call Hawks to see if they sell pieces separate.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

I may...thanks. ...Honestly 3" might be a tad small, but should be fine. 3.5" might be a tad big, but again....it would work. Found a calc that put about 400hp at 3.25", lol. My luck!

I've got a 4 inch on mine. It's a Mufflex. Fits good.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

Please keep us updated on what you find out! I'd be interested in a 3.5" over axle pipe also. I could fab one out of mandrel bends, but if it's already done, it saves me the time. With 3.5" I could ditch my e-cutout.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

I recently picked up a set of Dyno Don's headers, with a 3.5" Y pipe. It was a great deal I couldn't pass up. That being said with Spring coming, I'm not in a huge rush to get it done. I posted to do a little homework, but I'm not feverishly shopping just yet.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

I don't know how loud you want your car but it will get louder with the 3.5" pipe. I'll just say that my car will wear on your ears, even hurt them at times, and you'll want to get out of the car after about 30 minutes. Obviously my straight thru muffler has something to do with that, but it is a legit full-size muffler with packing. The noise reduces a lot if you can keep the engine speed below ~2000 rpm. I can't granny shift my car like that but you might be able to with your engine combo and that will save your ears.

Re: 3.5" Over Axle pipe

Yeah, right now it's not too bad. In fact around town I almost wish it was a little louder. ....and like you said, under 2000 isn't too bad. I drove 5 hours from my area to Atlanta years ago for the F Body Gathering, and it started just fine but by the end I was done with being in the car!
