Need part # L69 I-pipe
Have a L69 with a 4th gen Gmmg on it, intermediate pipe blew a seam and was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a replacement piece if they make one available, it’s the pipe after the cat (4 bolt flange) that mates with the pipe going over the rear axle, can provide more pics if needed. Kinda new to working on exhaust, forgive me please.

That's going to be a tough find regardless where you go looking. The days of companies offering anything for thirdgen exhaust are long gone, much less something only used from 83-85. Probably be easier to cut the bad pipe off the flange, get a mandrel bent section of pipe (guessing a 45* angle section would come close) and weld it to your existing flange.

Walker/Dynomax has been cutting their thirdgen product line with a machete for a few years now. It's worth a try if you can find something in their catalog that suits your needs, but there's a strong possibility even if something is listed in the catalog that it may be discontinued or limited to existing inventory. Be careful ordering from anyplace that drop-ships from the manufacturer or lists the item on backorder, there's a real chance the inventory and production isn't really there to fulfill the order. You may want to take additional steps to CALL a vendor that may have the item available to verify if it is really available before firing off an online order and waiting for something that may never show up. In the past Summit has changed the expected ship date several times before finally switching an item's status to no longer available.
One other note on the Walker pipe. Usually the pipe is 2.75" and narrows down to 2.5" the last bit that slips inside the muffler, the same as stock. If you only need that short segment in your photo from the flange to where the intermediate pipe straightens out, it may or may not bother you.

I had considered this one for my '85 a while back. It's an LB9 but the '85's used the L69 exhaust. I didn't go with it because it states 2.5" diameter when the factory piece was 2.75. But as Drew mentioned, it may be 2.75" and necks down to 2.5 when it inserts in the muffler. If so, that would be correct.

Thank you everyone for the reply, really I only need the short section between the flange and where the clamp is in the picture, assuming there is enough “healthy” pipe coming off the flange I’m considering just slipping new pipe over it and clamping it down, should I be using 3” for this?

Calipers and tape measures, and rulers... Harbor Freight has lots of them.
We can guess what you have on your car, or we can tell you what we have on our cars, or you can measure your car. I know, totally crazy, but one of these options is vastly more accurate.

a better plan today may be to use the fourth gen I-pipe that is truly 3" and has a slip fit connection to the cat and modify your existing y-pipe for a cat that is now available.
