Since a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system p/n 16829 is more larger than rear bumper and it excee the end of the car (1986 Firebird Trans Am), then: it's "cut to fit" or "ready to fit"?
The tips are welded to the tail pipe. The only way to shorten them up is to cut and re weld. I modified the angle my tips exited. Got some stainless curved pipe and did some cutting and splicing to tuck my tips .
I changed the angle of my tips so that they pointed more downward. Unmodified, the tips point upward and "hang" under the car when looking from the side. I preferred for mine to be more tucked under the car and not as visible from the side.

Reason: Add narrative.
The "Magnaflow" stamped in the top of the stainless tips is advertisement for them. Looks like these were made to fit the 82-90 cars as the pipes end up at or more behind the edge of the 91-92 cars and the name isn't visible..

Reason: typo
I have the Magna flow system on my car for 8 yrs now never had to cut anything to fit it.slide all the pipes into each other an it fits flush with the rear bumper don't slid all the pipes into each other enough they will stick out
Agreed...from certain angles. From others..looks great.
Either way magnificent sound and beats the aluminized cheap metal of many of the hidden “stock style” tailpipes.
