Headers/Y pipe questions

I revently picked up a '84 Z/28. the headers that are on the car are cracked in the bends near the head. the car was Carb swaped(unsure of what was OE to it) any way to tell what headers i have? i need new ones obviously and dont want a huge hassle. id love some direct fit options with no modifications needed. Not looking for HP just a weekend driver/bar hopper.

Re: Headers/Y pipe questions

Post pictures headers are fairly distinct and we can probably tell you what you have

Chances are your car was carbed factory but with a much more reliable and fuel efficient unit that made more HP than whatever was attached after someone could not figure out the old Qjet

Re: Headers/Y pipe questions

Dont have any pictures of the other side right now. hard to get those in the dark last night. ill grab some pictures of the other side when i get home form work today.
the passenger side has a similar bends to them. with cyl #6 spark plug being hard to access. the collector seems to be a bit more angled to the rear on the engine compared to the driver side though.

Does the pass side have a weird tube that goes over the top?

Not surprised they are the most common, also the cheapest. I think you want PN 11116FLT
