Modifications needed for supercomp lt install

I have already talked to a couple of people, but I was interested to know if any of you ran into any specific problems. I have and 85 trans am. For instance the length of the #7 spark plug has been mentioned as a problem and clearance of the frame. Tell me your problems and how you solved them. I just want to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks

Ben

I have an LT1 in my camaro, so my LT install didn't involve any problems with the #7 wire. I did have to grind some metal away from the passenger side engine cross-member to keep it from touching, but not too bad. The driver side was cake :-) Make sure to use Stage 8 locking bolts.

Do the headers not come with bolts? If not where should I get bolts like you are talking about? What is locking?

Thanks

I didn't have to grind anything. But i did have to use shorter plugs and 90* boots. Good hi-temp boots/wires will help. The biggest problem I had was that one of my primaries is right on the starter. It fit fine with the old starter. But with the new TCI mini-starter,it was tight enough that the header/starter won't go on without indenting a small spot on the primary tube.Other than that everything fit fine.

Trust me, I have, and I have talked to some of the people to see exactly what they have done. I just have not found that many details for that many different people. I just want to be the most prepared possible being as this is my transportation.

Stage 8 locking bolts you can get from Summit or Jegs. the Jegs number is 868-8911 and the price is $31.99
