305tpi, 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 headers
Hello, i'm going to get headers in the near future. i have just a cam upgrade in my motor now. would you all suggest the 1 5/8 or the 1 3/4 exhaust headers? ya never know, i might throw a 350 in it in 10 years. thanks, tom

.....should be good for now. I would say 1 7/8 if your 305 was heavily modded. If u decided to put in 350 down the road, you could always just buy another set of headers, what is another 300 bucks during an engine swap and if you were series about doing it in 10 years, you would probably need new headers anyways. I have 1 5/8 headers in my TBI and im planning on installing an LT1 cam and Edelbrock TBI intake along with some other small mods this summer.

I'd say get the 1 3/4" headers. Get the stainless steel (SLP) ones and get em coated for added protection and good looks.
This way they will last long enough for you to put in a bigger engine, and already be there should you decide to swap engines sooner.

It really depends on how serious you are about changing to a 350. If you do plan to change "any time soon" get the 1 3/4". If not, get the 1 5/8". If you get the 1 3/4" now, I have read that you lose torque.
