you don't have to "pull it up". At most, to get the passenger side in, you'll have to undo the passenger side motor mount, and use a jack and block of wood to tilt the motor on the driver's side mount. that should give you more than enough room to put in headmans to edelbrock headers. It took me less than an hour to do headmans after the 2nd time, and that's all I did. No need to actually pull the whole thing up.

You shouldent have to, although if you were to take the center bolts out of the mounts and raise the engine it would give you some extra room to work with.

On mine we didn't have to raise or move the motor at all. Just move things out the way to get the manifolds off, and the headers slid right in.

thanks for the imput guys. i was wondering if anyone knows how much it is to get headers coated with that ceramic stuff. see, i want to get the edelbrock headers but you can get them in black paint(which i don't want) or nickel/chrome plated. should i just get the chrome ones. i like the edelbrock one because they will work with the stock cat and comes with the y-pipe. anyone out there have the edelbrock headers. do have any complaints or problems with them. thanks alot

well i wasnt going to get headers at all... then i went and was going to buy pacesetters...i thought hey better than stock...waited a little and bought TES.....non coated...IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT and your going to sink some good money into this car.. go ahead... I bought my car for 600 bucks and its a rust bucked that i fixed up and primered grey...looks like a beater..and its just a summer car sooo....i didnt get them coated...i've seen headers that werent coated and they ARE RUSTY!!!!!!!!!!....I just sanded off the black shipping paint and put a couple of light coats of 2500 degree crome paint on......then one good coat...i havent had the motor running soo i dont know ...it should last a while...i think i've seen some posts about guys using high temp paint with good results..............if i had enough money to get them coated I still wouldnt ...i would gotten uncoated and spent the rest on a cam or something..................

Pretty much................ It's all up to you...............
