New Exhaust Installed

Got the RS back last week with the new exhaust set-up installed (see sig). I am very happy w/ this set-up, the sound is awesome.

Sweet, can you describe the sound? That's what I may have if I get the $ for headers. I'm tempted to put on SLP Catback though, cause those original Firehawks sounded MEAN.

I've got virtually the same exhuast setup (vice 1.75" headers) and I know what you mean when you say you are pleased with the sound. Mellow at idle and loud and deep when you get on the gas. Theres also that sweet spot around 2 -2.5k IMO.

I get tons of comments from others with this setup. I even had strangers pull up next to me and talk about it. And they all look shocked when I tell them the block is basically a stock 305! No disrespect to others who use a different exhaust setup, but I have yet to hear ANY V8 305/350 exhaust sound that even comes close. (Again IMO)

Enjoy!!!

The exhaust tone is very mellow at idle kinda like a deep base rumble and screams when you get on the gas. I almost went w/ the SLP cat-back but I instead opted for the flowmaster because I did not really like the single side exit of the SLP's just my $.02...

I like the fact that it is not annoyingly loud like other set-ups that I have heard. That sweet spot is one of the first things that I noticed, I was very impressed. Yeah people think that I'm lying when I tell them that it is a 305 not a 350. I am really happy w/ this set-up and I would highly recommend it.

I have the same system.SLP 1-5/8" headers,3" Catco Cat,3" American Thunder Dual 3" outlet System.
I love it.Like you said, Idle is not noisy,
but when my foot's in it,it's real loud.
(My car does have a 350)
Sounds a lot like my friend's 74 Chevy Truck with 2-chamber Flowmasters and roller 383.

Same here, I get that look from them like I am doing something illegal or something.
