Recommendations for a exhaust for both 305 and 350

I want to get a new exhaust system for my 84 bird. It's got a leak 305 in it that should be getting changed this summer. Are there any system that will accommodate this? I need everything from the , and including, headers back. I see some 86< system for both the 305/350 tbi but that's not the way I'm going. I plan on dropping in the 350 GM performance engine to replace my LG4. Any thoughts?

^^ What he said, sound clip of the Hooker is in signature. Don't follow the video link for sound it's distorted. As far as headers SLP makes the best, Edelbrock's are ok.

I agree completely with Mark. I've got the SLP headers and Hooker cat-back and it sounds awesome, not to mention it dramatically increased power. As far as it not being TPI, the exhaust doesn't care what the induction is. They will all work, so go with the TPI cat-back. It is 3" all the way, with no bottlenecks to slow down flow.

The way they list them TPI/TBI just means how the cat-back connects to the stock cat. So if you're not keeping the stock cat, I'd say get the $200 Hooker and have it welded on.

Thanks for all of your help!! So it looks like I am going to go with the hooker cat back. Does anyone know how much the eldelbrock headers cost compared to the pricey SLP ones? Finally how about a cat and Y-pipe. Any recommendations? With the Hooker cat-back, SLP/Edelbrock headers, y-pipe, and cat I should be good to go.

I would go with the Hooker headers instead of the Edelbrock headers. I opted for the SLP 1 5/8.

I'd go with the Hooker headers over the edlebrocks if the SLP's are too expensive. The edlebrocks #1 primary on the passenger side runs over top of the other primaries, making access to the plugs and header bolts very difficult. One friend has a set with a permanent exhaust leak because he can't get to one of the bolts.
