Hooker headers

I just bought an f-body w/ hooker headers and some crappy homemade y-pipe. I have an exaust leak, what gaskets do I use if it is at the exaust ports. Will any header gaskets for small block chevy work. please post a part number for me(if you are sure). Thanks guys....Patrick

Hooker headers will either have the ball flange connection like my 2055 that don't need gaskets or they will need standard 3" header collector gaskets. Do you have old gaskets to compare?

I guess what I need to know is what exaust gaskets to use at the exaust ports on the heads, not at the collectors. Do I use stock manifold gaskets?

well the ones that came with time were 1-5/8 square opening cardboard gaskets. I measured them and got some feltpro's insted for $15. If you have 1-5/8" headers then you can do the same.

Tas, how do you like the 2055 Hooker headers? Did you have to raise the motor for install? How about bend brake lines or remove the steering shaft or mess around with the starter?
Thanks, I'm looking to buy these headers soon.

I am also looking to buy the 2055's. Can these be installed in your driveway with just jackstands and simple tools. Did everything fit okay?

They go on next week when my friend has time to help me (spring break). We did the whole exaust on his Mustang plus a Trick Flow intake, and ignition, so he owes me

Use Felpro 1404 gaskets at the heads. Read my response to your other post about the y-pipe.
