Interesting. Could both axles be driving the car at the same time? I noticed there are slicks on the rearmost axle- I would've expected them on the middle axle. I mean, one axle has to just be along for the ride, right?

Let's keep it tech b/c I'd really like to have some feedback on my question- not like last time with the AN fittings on a steel fuel line

I ran across an article on a Chevy truck with tandem dually axles once. They were both drive axles. The way he went about it was simple....take a 4x4 transfer case, lock it in 4Hi and mount it backwards (what would normally be the rear output was used as an input, so that the front output and the input shaft could drive the 2 rear axles.) He had like 4 U-joints in the driveshaft for the back axle because it had to bend a couple times to clear the front one.

maybe he lives out in the boonies and has a hard time getting up hills or rough terrain, and two drive axles help? honestly thats the only reason i could think of besides he just wanted the challenge of fabbing it. Although in that case they could buy a truck.bah.

Cool, thanks for the info! Makes sense, too. I guess the transfer case wouldn't care what was driving it- input shaft or output shaft, as long as it was locked in.

I wonder how strong that super-u-jointed driveshaft was.

If I were to do anything like that I would beef the hell out of the chasis... Throw a deisel in the front and mount a 5th wheel hitch and use it to pull my racing 3rd gen in a trailer behind... Then it would be cool. Gotta give him some credit for doing it...even if it just a "tad" odd.

OOOPS...forgot to look at the date. LOL
