license plate mount fab

car just got back from teh body shop recently with a brand new grill on it

the problem is that i don't want to drill holes in the grill to mount the license plate bracket, has anyone fabricated a mount that attaches behind the bumper to hold the license plate?

That's super sweeeeeet.....
Just a thought.... why not just put it where it is supposed to be? You still have holes in the bumper, but now you can rip off pedestrians legs with a single swipe.

i always thought the plate in the middle ruined the front end looks on the car. the prior owner must hav thought so too, so when he got a new bumper he made this mount. and those are not holes they are dead bugs...

Actually, I was talking about the holes that are drilled thru where the plate is at..... 87orange said his complaint was he didn't want to drill holes in his new grill. My only thought on the plate on your 'bird is maybe moving it more central to follow the lines of the car a little better....

are you talking about the air dam underneath the car? cops can't see(not that its a big deal) but as many bumps and potholes as there are in my neighborhood, it'd be torn off in an hour

the bolts you see only mount the plate to the steel bracket, the bracket mounts under the bumper, where holes will never bee seen. see atached photo:

1. can't put it on the air dam here in Texas...already tried and got pulled over.

2. you can put it on the dash against the windshield and the cops don't complain here.

Yea, same here, got pulled over for “unsafe tires” and when the towtruck wouldn’t show up for them they wrote me a ticket for the front tag... I’ve moved it to the dash since and they seem cool with that

It really sux having to drill holes in your bumper but its worth not getting a ticket for. The illistration here was a very good example, I'll try that when I either get a new bumper or fix my old one. The original driver kinda chewed it up.. bagh.. shouldnt be driving a firebird if you cant see over the wheel..
