I haven't, but if I did I'd start with the optional locking gas door. A lot easier to fill in the hole for the lock than cutting off and filling the handle.

smoothing out the lid is going to be fairly easy

i have two lids and im going to cut the finger whole out of the new lid and a smooth piece out of the old and fuse the smooth piece in and if im feally really energenic i might make a mold and make a completely new lid

what about using something like a cabinet door magnet, the kind that pushes in and out? you could shave off the bump, then when you need to open the door, you just push it in and it pops out?

i have my door shaved i did it just like i said before

no i just have to figure out which one of these ideas im going to use to open it im sort of leaning toward the magnet idea

it seems simple and has less chance of breaking and if it does it will be an easy fix

I've seen it in the suspension boards a couple times so far, but I've been wondering what you're planning to do with the car.

If you want it to handle, you'll have to drop that fuel cell down a ton. With 22 gallons of fuel sitting up that high it's going to be a real pain to drive.

Not to sure where you got 22 gallons from, but it is a 15 gallon tank. and it is only maybe 6 inches higher than the stock tank. I think the picks make it look a lot higher. As for handling, its gonna be fine for the street, and in a straight line. If I ever take it to a track I would not run that tank full, and i was even considering having another small, lower tank, that I can run race gas in and have a valve to switch from one to the other on track days.....hell as of right now I don;t even know where ther are any tracks around here (non-drag, drag in and hour away).

Anyways, I am not worried. The plan for the car is to be a fun street car. Thats why it has so much sound deadening, stock and 5 points, and all the padding/ cloth on the bars, not to mention the lowered side bars, to make getting in and out easy. This is now was a race car that is going to be be certified or anything. I want a fast fun street car that I will most likely take to the track once to see what she can really do.
