Custom Intake for ZROC Hood? Help
I was thinking of a ram air design for my ZROC hood on my third gen. Im not 100% fabrication savey and was wondering wut kinda ideas you guyz could come up with. Heres wut i have.
The gray area is like a peice of sheet metal or sumthin of that type, and would fit a filter inline with the pipe and throw it strait into the intake plenum. any problem to overcome such as rain w/ some sort of foam bypass or something? Brainstorm a bit =) Have fun with it.

That is gonna be tough cuz the straight up design...
What about the vertical part, in the hood, like a cut out in there.

Someone had suggested to make a bend in the pipe. Like how pluming is setup. So there is a low point on the intake. so mabye i could bend it somehow before it reached the intake. Not sure .. just an idea. =) Any others?

Is this a TPI car?
FBoDyV85, in your pic I would say too many bends to restrict the flow, and it looks like the ram air opening is the gap between the hood and the bumper cover. The throttle body sets too far forward for it.
If this is a carbed setup, I would cut open the back of the hood and run a cowl induction setup.

I would run either the factory setup with a pair of K&N's, and gut the restrictions right below them in the housing, or make a 3" cold air intake with a roughly 9" cone filter. You can relocate the vac canister and mount the filter on the underside of the apron in about the same spot. Marine exhaust tubing works good for the straight section, and you can get elbows from a variety of sources that sell superchargers (ATI, vortech, etc). SLP used to sell a twin filter cold air setup, and if you do a search there are a couple of pics posted of it.

this is the ram air. scoops from where the air comes in through the foglights
