Thinking of giving a k-member a try. Thinking of using 2x3 for the cross member and some plate steel for mounting the a-arms. Not to worried about weight, more strength and room and a little bit of a custom look. What do you guys think?

I was waiting for spohns and ran out of patience, so i'm just playing around with options now. I don't like anybody elses because most of them keep having issues.

There's a reason why people keep having issues with them... Unless you _really_ know what you're doing, a home built K-member is a recipe for disaster…

We have a lot of experience building full tube chasis cars and all sorts of other stuff. There is no doubt that we can pull it off its just a matter of getting all the measurements and deciding whether or not i really want to put that much effort into it.

If you really give it some thought, you could save some weight. Looking at previous pictures of K members is where i would start than get it down on graph paper. Tubular steel looks better but square stock is still fine. There isnt a real strength difference in the stocks but many will argue with you for the sake of arguing.

I am not really sure why somebody would go to that amount of work to change such an integral part of the front end.
Is your car an all out drag car, or daily driver?
I just drug my K-member back out from storage and reinstalled it on my Iroc so I can move it to my new house. (My car is in pieces). I was surprised at how light the piece was actually. But I don't think I would want anything lighter then that. Maybe a piece made of aluminum would be pretty trick, but I doubt anyone really wants to go to those lengths just for a K-member.
