going an inch taller tire than stock wont help that much. considering your staying the same width as stock. you do realize aerodynamics like that dont come in to play at speeds attainable on road. So unless your autox theres no point your just adding weight and slowing it down.

all you need is drop springs, a good set of shocks, biga$$ sway bars, bushings, and good tires.. thats it.. i had eibach sportline springs and they were a dream compared to the stocks..
my set up was:
eibach sportlines
monroe sensatrac shock (budjet for my very expesive car)
suspension techniques sway bar set 1 3/8" front and 1" rear
energy suspension bushings
stock a-arms
old steering linkage
leaky steering box
LCA's
panhard bar
spohn TA
16x8's with 4" backspacing
235/55-16 goodyear eagles(factory s-10 xtreme)

thats it..
it was honestly the best handling car i ever drove in my life.. i put the stock springs back in cause the ground clearance.. i had 3" from the header to the ground.. now i have like 5"..

I think the only think the front spoiler would provide is some downforce when your getting into the triple digits and negate the floaty feel. 5678ta seems to have covered everything, but I don't think he mentioned sub frame connectors. If your going to buy rims some 17x9.5's would probably help out though.

for a guy on a budget, my car handles better than i thought possible.

moog iroc springs
kyb-gr2s
rebuilt front end
iroc quick ratio gearbox
poly endlinks
Spohn SFC's
Spohn Wonderbar
SLP Zr1's w/ 245/45/17 kumhos

I have yet to add my iroc 34mm swaybar or ragjoint yet. they're just chilling sitting around.

stock 16x8's with good rubber will do as good a job as any 17x8 and will be much more cost effective (both wheels and tires), the only benefit 8 inch wide 17's would have would be additional clearance for bigger brakes and appearance..
and like mentioned before, a front spoiler and rear diffuser would only be effective at speeds unattainable on the street.. do it if it makes you feel happy, but don't expect a performance improvement.

I would deffinately say go with a set of yokohama tires. I didnt change anything but my tires and my camaro corner like its on rails. im running stock rims with yokohama avid trz tires and you wount belive the difference in handling. and if your doing suspension deffinately dont forget about control arms and shock tower brace

as for tires i have BFG g-force kdw's with the new tread design and let me say that these things stick like glue in corners. i cant say that my car was ever good cornering especially when its wet out, but damn, i thrashed these things the other day in the rain, dont know if it was a smart thing to do but i was amazed by how they performed. they look really cool to. anyone else have these?

I have a setup similar to tobias05. The car handled incredible. The Kumho victorracers are like magic shoes.

Yeah some good tires are a must. I installed some BFG G-force sports, 255/50/16s and the car corners like its on rails now.

I love these tires...

Then try to get ahold of this.
Some of the fastest road coarse cars on this site only got 6 cylinders under the hood.

There is video proof of that around here somewhere from a more recent TGO get together.

Why? because this is the interenet? Or is it hard to beleive because of the vipers stats on paper. A car can have stats on paper but its all about whos driving. Sorry I had a bad day. Didnt me to sound like a ding dong.

2nd n 3rd gens have a secret weapon that not many GM cars got. And Don't think anyone else does it much. Our Aarm set up is thus so when you crank the wheel to turn the tires run flat, all other car end up on their edge. Why with little mod they ride on rails stock, even more so when you lose weight in the front end.

One of the first handlin mods to an old pre 80s GM car, swap in 2ndgen parts if you can't afford a fancy kit, also keep it stock looking for race classes.

Hands down, Subframes, Wonderbar, and Strut tower brace. Anything else is worthless if you are twisting the frame that isn't there.

panhard, sfc, wonderbar, lower control arm, front and rear sway bars, strut tower brace, new shocks, a-arms, torque arm, a good set of tires and if you want you can take out the interior and remove all of the filler so you can weld the floor solid instead of the poorly done factory welds. I know someone on here re-welded his floor and he said it stops the little rattles and makes the car feel solid.

go to the links on the side of the page and go to there suspension sections. you'll find everything you should need right there.

HAHA nice. i wish i had an indy car but it really all comes down to forces. you need pressure on the tires and reinforcements under the car. the more pressure on the tires the better they will stick (great shock) as for reinforcement you need to stop stuff from twisting and moving side to side. (control arms, sfc, stb, ect...) Your gonna get what you pay for its that simple dont try to skip stuff. the more important things are obviously tires but also shocks. if they are lacking pressure and response your not going to handle well. then you need to stop body roll so you need at least new bushings for your sway bars. a strut tower brace, wonder bar and sfc wont hurt, they'll stop the frame from twisting and creating more g -forces to the far side of the car. Control arms are going to stop your wheels from hopping as much. Also you may not like to hear it because everyone hates ricers but at truely high speeds cornering is enhanced by a spoiler. the gross wings on ricers dont belong there because there cars are all front wheel drive but it actually would help ours. while i would never use one you can get a tall spoiler like the z28 spoiler if you wanna upgrade everything to hit turns at 50ish otherwise it wont even make a difference
