Has anyone ever heard of or tried to fab up some vents into the side of the front fenders just in front of the door like on the older vettes? I thought it might be neat to make some with a motorized door behind em, so when i switch my fan on the vents open. Just an idea, thanks for any input.

 

Like the stock Pontiac vents, in this car? They aren't functional, but they'd be a good start, as a housing, to put opening/closing doors inside of.

 

Oh, awesome. I didn't know they came with those. Yeah, something along those lines.

 

All Pontiacs came that way, except the GTAs. GTAs were smoothed out, and didn't get the vents.

 

I thought it was only the trans am that got the vents. I don't remember any firebirds with them.

Are the fenders between Firebirds and Camaro's swappable?

 

Well, since Camaros never got them, and Pontiac fender won't fit a Camaro (the roof line is wrong), they won't simply bolt on. You'd hafta cut out the hole in a Camaro fender, fab the mounting tabs, THEN they'll bolt in.

 

Actually, the fender vents, like the hood aero vents, are minimally functional. They collect dirt and road grunge more than anything else.

At the bottom of the page it says they're 81 z28 fender louvers.
