Re: race seat with 8 point cage
I purchased a set from Ed Quay. The driverside is adjustable and the passenger is stationary. They were $119 for the set. they worked great and the best part is they bolt up to the stock locations

I fabricated my own from some aluminum channel. My seat sits lower and farther back than what the factory mounts allow.
Interior shots?

Re: race seat with 8 point cage
-Get some 1" square tube x .120 wall
-Cut the studs off the floor pan rails where the seat bolts.
-Determine if you need to be lower for head clearance, if so, notch the floor pan rails and lay in 1" sq. tube.
-Get 3/8" weld-in threaded inserts from Coleman Racing. Drill tube where necessary and weld inserts.
-Weld tubes to floor.
-Drill holes in seat, bolt to tubes with Grade 8 hardware.
I'm 6'3" with a big head and this lets me sit low enough to keep my head below the main hoop. The best part is that it only cost me about $30

Re: race seat with 8 point cage
Its not hard to pay for LS1 stuff. I know of a lot of younger guys around my age building some pretty healthy ls1s. Im 19 and we are not rich at all and Im doing a lot of **** to my car. I have cheap land payment, girlfriend goes to school and works, I work for my dad doing heating and air. I say No kids do it now so you dont have the bills..I was going to do a nasty Ls1 but I want to stick to old school. I dont want to wires, and I like the look of a carb. I want to keep it simple, Id love to do an aluminum small block. But Im not very smart when it comes to LS motors. I will be running a 2 stage nitrous kit..this is a street car not a drag car so it might be cheaper or more moeny idk but with tubro or blower..your going to save money in the long run. I would spend a $100 every other friday night in bottles when my car was stock. Over a summer a superchager would almost pay for itself. But yes I have a problem, I addicted to spray

Re: race seat with 8 point cage
That's a road race cage. It's overkill for a drag car.
