Re: ashtray delete

yea, definately some blue leds. that would look awesome. and try and have the leds connected to the cover of the ash tray with a shut-off switch (like the overhead light with the doors) so when the cover closes the leds shut off. just and idea. but yea, that looks really good.

That would look alright if you hit it with some lightly textured black paint (to match the rest of the console)

Well maybe you should give up on thinking since you're not very good at it. And don't go crazy with all the blue LEDs or you'll have airplanes trying to land on your roof while going down the highway.

no worries too many lights are ***** im thinking just a subtle hint cuz if it was all lit up youd see all the cables and wires that run in the center console im thinkin of scuffing it up a bit so it isnt clear then maybe the leds and as for the airplanes its a hardtop R1c3r is censored?

Yeah, I am thinking of making something similar, but the whole ashtray assembly would be removed (lid too) and make a docking station for an Ipod

If you have nothing good to contribute to the thread or even the boards maybe you should find somewhere else to express your mind..

agreed...

As for the ashtray.. I say frost the plastic... just use sand paper or media blaster... and paint a black ring around it.... then a blue LED on each end... but only if the blue matches your car. like if you have a read car and gray int... dont use blue.

Re: ashtray delete

what if you used an emblem like the one in your signature, but small enough to fit. just as a kind of accent. that would cover most of your polycarbonate and you could frost it or not its really a matter of taste. if you really want a Z28 outline maybe you could just find a black sticker of a Z28 outline and put that on after you frost it.

Norwood if you don't drop that attitude you will get blocked. the other users on this thread have been very patient with you. moderators, i suggest giving him one more chance before taking any action.

Make friends with someone with a laser engraver/cutter. That's the only way I can see it coming out looking sharp. You could also try going to a local hobby shop, and see if they have any glass frosting chemical, then with a lot of masking and a little luck it might look good.

I used mine as a switch panel. One is for the fan the other is for the exhaust cut out. the others are not being used.
