fabrication CAI/RAM air

I want to take the stock airboxes of my 85 z28 thats got a 350 TPI. I want to cut out the plastic that holds the filters, fabricate a pipe that will attach to the front like normal but come straight forward split into a V that comes down and puts two cone filters right behind the grill.

get me?

so the only thing is my brother welds but he cant do alluminium anything think this would be cool? I def think it would be alot more functional than the stock on there too and I wouldnt have to worry about heat sheilds

I wanted to do this too but i always ran in to trouble when u try to go down by the grill, you need a VERY thin pipe so it will still be just as restrictive if not more then stock i assummed and just gave up lol

Re: fabrication CAI/RAM air

Having it wrap around through the wheel well is a good idea... maybe that's the way to go...

Re: fabrication CAI/RAM air

I just used dryer duct. I actually noticed a difference too, it actually brings in cold air. Someone on here with a black Z fabbed some up from sheet aluminum (I'm thinking 1meanZ possibly...)

What about cutting a hole in the battery box on the left side. (the opposite side of the battery) that way you can run whatever you want in it! This is what I want to do to put the turbo system in my RS, only, I will have the battery relocated to the back so that way I can get to and from the aftercooler in the bumper!
