Got this idea after looking at my a few pieces of a edelbrock strutower brace, whatcha think? go for it? there is existing bolts where they meet the fender.Ill have to bend the tabs of the bars for a perfect fit.

Dunno why you called them '1LE'. I've seen those THIN stock ones before on non-1LEs. IIRC, my wife's 90 RS 305 TBI had them. Probably the reason why they were dropped, was because they did nothing but add build cost to the cars.

At least some Camaros were equipped with the BRACE, Fdr to Upr Cowl (GM 14074745) from 82-91, according to my Part & Illustration Cat.

Re: Custom 1LE bracing
I can't remember the name, but there was another thread where these were discussed and if I remember correctly, the conclusion was that those braces don't do much of anything for stiffening when referring to performance. You're just bracing the fender/hood support mount to the cowl.

Re: Custom 1LE bracing
My iroc got's one of those braces on the passenger side but not the driver, probably P.O. syndrome. An interesting note is that i can see scratches on the wheel well from the bolt that holds the bar on the fender, it's about a half inch gap I cant believe it would flex that far.

Re: Custom 1LE bracing
Ok i didnt get that he was making an extra for the driver side i thought he was just asking about them. Since were on the subject, did all cars get the brace from the pass. frame rail to the strut tower? I wonder why gm put three braces on the pass. side and none on the driver. To the O.P. those look nice a lot bigger than the tooth picks these cars came with. You did make the passenger side one bigger and move the mounts right.
