I don't dig the tail lights, but I've always wanted to see what that spoiler looked like with a notchback. Can you take some side and angle shots?

i like the idea of the painted lights but i think it is just a little much. i painted the grids white but left all the area where light comes through.

I like your car......it shows creativity ....my PO put zr1 lights on the iroc....but I rewired them to work like a Corvette .....had to put a 4way flasher in the turn signal spot ....so it would flash right ...and change the bulb receptacles out for ones with 3 wires.....

I don't think there haten on you or your car.....You asked what people thought about it.....and that's what you got.....also I don't think 3rd gens are a dime a dozen....I payed $4,000 for mine....and he was asking $5,000...soon the 3rd gens are going to be gone....like Nova's and. Malibu's.....But like you said you want it to stand out from the rest....I want the same for mine...try this paint your t-top white just above the door glass .....all t-tops are black...

And for the guy in Russia ........you can order them from hawks ....(.$650.00 ) its called a notch back

Dude i was on ur side till you went and said these cars are a dime a dozen, are you nuts??? Having said that tho man, its ur car so dont worry what everyone thinks, just do it up the way you want it done. My opinion on the car is the notch back is cool with the spoiler, but the tail lights i could take or leave. I think if the white was black it wouldnt stand out so much

I agree with ^ the things we all dream up for our cars is down right awesome sometimes... however the tail lights would look better painted black with the centers set up like that... I think it would really pop on that white car... just my but no "thirdgen" is a dime a dozen... if they were i'd be divorced.. lol

i believe it was 841le who took the lense off and did a sort of diamond pattern with niteshades and it looked really cool on his rs taillights, i think the grid lines painted is okay, and personally mine are pinstriped in between the grids. those are about the only three besides covers that ive ever liked

Re: 87 IROC 91-92 spoiler notchback custom tail lights

I've never liked knotchbacks or the 91-92 spoilers, but for some reason together, and maybe because of the white paint, I think it looks kind of cool. And Maybe its because the paint is semi gloss or kind of flatt, or the wheels you've got, I'm not sure, I don't mind the tail lights. I honestly cant believe it because if someone described your car to me I would probly think it was hideous, but I think its kind of cool. And the lisence plate would noramlly make me say, what a ***** bag, but on that car it makes me laugh, in a good way, like with you, not at you. Unless you really think your a "playboy" then I don't know. Also, There are still alot of thirdgens around for pretty cheap, and a lot of them look the same, so I don't mind the dime a dosen statement - because I don't think you think they are LITERALY a dime a dozen. P.S. Thats why my favorite third gens are the sport coupes and berlinetta's, becuse I think they are the cleanest, best looking body style of the thirdgens, have the most potential, and you dont see very many really tricked out sport coupes as rs's. They are closest in form to a true muscle/pony car like a 69 or a 70 &1/2, they dont have all the extra ground fx's and crap taked onto them. ( maybe try a set of early tail lights on your car, those look nicer then the later ones too. You could paint the horizontal divider on those white and leave the top and bottom, might look alright.)

The thread is named:

"87 IROC 91-92 spoiler notchback custom tail lights"

So, yes, I believe he was talking about all three. I like the notch and spoiler, but do not like the taillights, they look small and out of place.

Re: 87 IROC 91-92 spoiler notchback custom tail lights

to clear things up......i was talking about the whole setup not just the lights or hatch or spoiler........and i dont mean a nice camaro is a dime a dozen this 1 was junk when i got it (traded a 94 cutlass ciera 4 it).......and im a muscle car guy a lil upset that the whole 3rd gen era never had an SS so im kinda going for that theme......check the 60s camaros with the skinny tail lights and i know some of u think im ruining an IROC but the car probably isnt going anywhere and i like custom......in my opinion the factory isnt always right

To be honest I think the SS is pretty over rated now days, you talk to people about a Camaro first thing they say "aww yeah I want an SS" not even knowing that there was a Z/28 or a ZL1 option out there. Back to the topic, I like the idea, but too thin I might try something like this now to go with my black Camaro except wider and I never liked the notchback makes the Camaro look like it made love to a 71 Dodge Charger and shat out a freak of nature. (go with this guys it would be a good car name lol).
