Re: Pizza Box and Duck Tape
Yeah, I kind of have to agree with them, I had a couple odds and ends from lowes' plumbing department to replace my LIM pipe fitting when I was in a pinch, I've since replaced it with a nice one piece chrome fitting from summit, but I certainly didn't make a thread and post pictures of my ghetto plumbing fixture setup I had till then...ghetto rigs are things to be ashamed of, not proud of, lol. Now if you post pics of the dynamat and this plate thing, you will probably get some compliments. But unless it was a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY ingenious ghetto rig, you shouldn't show it off imo, lol.

Re: Pizza Box and Duck Tape
Just try to remember there is a difference between ghetto rigs, and fabrications, lol. My LIM pipe fitting made out of bits and pieces from lowes, not even all the same metal type=ghetto rig.
Removing the substructure of my fiberglass hood, patching the crack on the corner, pinning it on at all four corners, removing the shocks, hinges, pull cable, latch, and latch bar, or cutting a hole(clean straight cuts) for an access panel to the fuel pump=fabrication. Well maybe not fabrication so to speak, but definitely modifications.

Basically I think they operate as both a relief path for the HVAC when the windows are up, as well as allow fresh air to circulate when driving. Air enters via the cowl, and exits there.

I believe just that, probably to vent moisture so it can't collect in there or something.

those vents are there so your eardrums wont blow apart when you close the door with the windows up..
Well you get the idea.

Re: Pizza Box and Duck Tape
Do like i did, 1/4" MDF, take out that fiberglass cone if its still there. And build a custom box. If you take the metal trim out that mounts to the car, and the speaker mounts to it, you can make a nice size custom enclosure for the speaker , it will get rid of the rattle, and give the speaker great sound(if you build it to the right air vol).

Heck, unless it's an emergency and you won't get home without it, duct tape shouldn't be used at all in any vehicle.
